DALLAS – The Texas Department of State Health Services says the new shipment of “first doses” of the vaccines used against Covid-19 will arrive in Texas next week, with the order in for another half million “second doses” for those people vaccinated a few weeks ago.
An unstated number of the new “first dose” shipment will be sent, officials say, to 79 hub providers offering large community vaccination events. Further, 181 providers offering vaccines to health care workers, residents of long term care facilities, people aged 65 and older, and those with medical conditions causing great risk from Covid 19.
In the past week, Texas became the first state to administer one million doses of the Covid 19 vaccine.
