2 Young Children in Protective Custody as Garland Police Hunt for Mom’s Deadly Shooting Suspect

GARLAND (WBAP/KLIF) –  Garland Police say they believe two young children witnessed the shooting murder of their mother Saturday night and have placed them in protective custody as a full manhunt for the suspect begins.  Police say neighbors of the two children told them the kids exited their home crying and calling for help; police arrived to find the mother shot; pronounced dead a short time later.

Police say they believe the unidentified slain woman’s boyfriend is the shooting suspect.  He is described as 40 year old Rodrigo Roman Villareal, described as driving a blue, four door Mazda 6, with Illinois license plate number P 3 9 3 7 2 0.  Authorities believe suspect Villareal fled the home immediately after the shooting.
