Woman Beaten in Deep Ellum in 2019 Sues Alleged Attacker, His Former Employer & City of Dallas

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – A Dallas woman has filed a lawsuit in connection with a violent attack in Deep Ellum in 2019.

In the lawsuit 29-year old L’Daijohnique Lee makes several claims against 32-year old Austin Shuffield:

*That he racial slurs against her and caused her serious harm leaving her in a state of fear

*That the bar where he worked had over-served him and should not have hired him

*That the city retaliated against her by seeking her arrest shortly after the incident.  

Part of the March 21, 2019 attack went viral. It shows Shuffield repeatedly punching Lee in a parking lot in the 2800 block of Elm Street.

The lawsuit names Shuffield, his former employer and the City of Dallas.
