World Cup Games May Be Coming to DFW

(WBAP/KLIF) — The Dallas 2026 Committee is hoping to attract FIFA World Cup matches to DFW. FC Dallas President Dan Hunt leads the committee that’s trying to land as many as 6 World Cup soccer games.

Hunt says that the economic impact to North Texas would rival that of a Super Bowl. He also said, “my goal is simple: I want to host the World Cup Final here in Dallas.” A FIFA delegation will be in the Metroplex on October 23rd and 24th, touring venues , including Dallas, Frisco, Arlington, and Fort Worth.

According to the Dallas Morning News, FIFA will announce sites for the 2026 World Cup in early 2022.
