Teen Charged in Wrong-Way Crash that Killed a 5-Year Old; Severely Injured 14-Year Old

Rhome, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – The Rhome Police Department has charged an 18-year old male for leaving the scene of a wrong-way crash that killed a 5-year boy and severely injured his 14-year old sibling; it happened in the southbound lanes of Route 287 early Sunday.

Police Chief Eric Debus tells WFAA-TV that Christopher Fowler collided with a car carrying a family of six and then ran off on foot. After a 15-hour search Fowler was found his home about 14 miles away Police believe that he had help getting back to his residence.

Fowler is currently in the Wise County Jail on charge of charges of manslaughter, accident involving injury or death, both second-degree felonies. He also faces an additional third-degree felony count of accident involving injury or death.
