Parkland reported doubling of hospitalizations as well.
Dr. Joseph Chang, Parkland’s Chief Medical Officer said that “just two weeks ago, they were talking about omicron taking up about 1% of overall cases in America; now we’re between 70% and 80% or higher.” Dr. Chang described the situation as “pretty remarkable.”
Omicron is now the dominant strain in DFW.
