FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) – As Fort Worth ISD students returned to in-person learning on Wednesday, district officials have outlined the current COVID-19 safety protocols in place.

In a letter to parents, District Superintendent Kent Scribner said he wanted the school community to know they’ve got an action plan as the omicron variant spreads rapidly across Tarrant County.

All of the district campuses underwent a deep cleaning ahead of the start of the spring semester.

Scribner also gave a break down of the district’s current policies.

  • Students, staff and visitors are strongly encouraged to wear masks while inside district facilities.
  • Children who have COVID-19 symptoms or are ill are advised to stay home and consult with a medical doctor.
  • Anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 will need to isolate for at least five days and until all symptoms improve and the person is fever free.
  • The district maintains a daily cleaning regimen that includes disinfection of all classroom surfaces.
  • Crews clean the district school buses nightly and use atomizers to help disinfect. Drivers also keep sanitizer on buses and open the windows, when weather permits, to let in fresh air.

District officials are also encouraging anyone who needs to be tested to click here for information from both Tarrant County Public Health and the City of Fort Worth for a complete list of testing and vaccination sites.

The new testing sites include these district locations.
