(WBAP/KLIF) — Dallas County Commissioners passed a resolution, Tuesday, urging Russia to release Americans being held as prisoners.
The move was made to support the release of Americans being held in Russian prisons, including former Baylor basketball star Brittney Griner and former U.S. Marine Trevor Reed. Judge Clay Jenkins also listed by name North Texas companies still doing business with Russia, which prevented the measure from being passed unanimously.

In addition, the Dallas City Council unanimously agreed to stop a sister-city relationship with Saratov, Russia, which had been in place for 18 years. According to the Dallas Morning News, the city also decided to oppose any city contracts with groups continuing links to the Russian government.
