Retailers, Charities Prepare for Cyber Monday

(WBAP/KLIF) – It’s not just the big retailers getting in on the action this Cyber Monday.

The Monday after Thanksgiving is now known as Cyber Monday, the online equivalent of Black Friday. To accommodate what it’s calling a “retail evolution,” Goodwill North Central Texas is offering a variety of e-commerce solutions.

Goodwill receives many book donations each year. Since nearly half of all book sales are now made online, Goodwill North Central Texas created a way for our customers to purchase books from Goodwill using its online bookstore powered by Amazon.

Goodwill North Central Texas’s shoppers are now finding collectibles and antiques online. An online auction site similar to eBay, ShopGoodwill.com sells donated items online from many Goodwill organizations across the country. Customers can search for items by category, auction end-date, or geographical location. Each item is awarded to the highest bidder.

According to the National Retail Federation’s Cyber Monday Expectations Survey conducted by Prosper Insights & Analytics, 122 million Americans plan to shop online on Cyber Monday, up from the 121 million who planned to participate last year.
