NCAA Women’s Final Four Reaches Out to West Dallas Community

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – A ribbon-cutting was held for the Women’s Final Four Legacy Court in West Dallas on Wednesday.

Officials with the 2023 NCAA Women’s Final Four said they wanted to make a lasting impact in Dallas for years to come. The Final Four is being played in Dallas this weekend.

The Legacy Project chose Mattie Nash-Myrtle Davis Park in West Dallas as the site of the court. Residents in the area have been asking for a local basketball court for years.

“We always craved to have a basketball court,” said Dederick Tubbs. “and “We used to jump that fence over there just to try to play on the goal at the school.”

Dallas City Councilman, the Dallas Sports Commission, the NCAA, and others partnered to make the dream a reality.
