Northwest ISD And McKinney ISD Have Approved New Salary Increases For Teachers

(WBAP/KLIF) – The new salary increases are part of a growing effort to keep teachers in the classroom. Earlier this week, Northwest ISD approved a new compensation plan giving teachers with five or more years of experience a $5,000 raise, and other teachers raises up to $2,500. Starting pay at Northwest ISD is now set at $63,750 which is one of the highest starting salaries in North Texas for teachers.

McKinney ISD also approved a nearly identical plan with veteran teachers receiving a $5,000 raise. Teachers who have been with the district for at least three years will receive $2,500 raise. The salary for first year teachers at McKinney ISD is now set at $63,000.
