1 person dead after shooting involving bounty hunter near Downtown Dallas, sources say

Police say a chase prior to the shooting led to a vehicle crashing into a transformer, causing a power outage.

DALLAS — One person is dead and two suspects are in custody after a shooting involving a bounty hunter near Downtown Dallas on Thursday morning, sources tell WFAA.

The incident took place around 9 a.m. near the intersection of Live Oak Street and Cantegral Street, according to police. Police say two suspects shot and hit a man who died at the scene. The suspects were arrested, according to police. Neither the man who was killed nor the suspects were identified. 

Sources told WFAA that a bounty hunter was chasing someone when a gun battle ensued.

Prior to the shooting, there was a chase that led to a vehicle crashing into a transformer, knocking out power to nearby apartments and a Tom Thumb grocery store at that intersection.

According to Oncor, about 2,400 customers were impacted in the area and staff have restored power to almost everyone.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
