Unpaid Medical Bills Are Going To Remain On Credit Reports

(WBAP/KLIF) – A federal judge in Texas annulled a move by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau that would have removed medical debt. The judge found that the rule put in place by the Biden administration exceeded the Bureau’s authority under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The rule would have removed nearly $50 billion dollars in medical bills from credit reports of 15 million Americans, which studies showed would have significantly raised millions of people’s credit scores.
