This is a time for family, a time for sharing, a time for gift giving, and for those of us who have checked off all of those for the season – a time for food.
I am proud to say that I have completely cut out any addiction I once had to sweets and chocolate. The problem I replaced that by making my addiction to cheese, bacon and sausage and even bigger addiction to cheese, bacon and sausage.
Hickory Farm fills the air with cheese cubes on the tree. Not really, but you get the idea.
Then you have the crazy examples of just a heightened awareness of food this time of year.
An example: Yesterday WBAP reporter Robbie Hoy asked if I wanted anything from Cindi's Deli. I love that place. I already brought my lunch so I declined. But I stewed over it all day. Today, I had business at the County Building and the perfect opportunity to walk over and get food from Cindi's.
Eating it now, knowing that I failed in getting my assigned blog to my boss on time this morning, gave me a perfect opportunity to share my food spirit this joyous season while fulfilling my duties as an employee.
Cheers!
