RICHARDSON (WBAP/KLIF 24/7 NEWS) – Sony will allow some theaters to show screenings of the controversial movie "The Interview", including Austin-based Alamo Drafthouse locations.
There are four showings on Christmas Day at the theater in Richardson according to its website.
Sony canceled the release of the movie, which is about an assassination plot against the leader of North Korea, after hackers threatened terrorist attacks if the movie was shown.
In an emailed statement, Alamo Drafthouse CEO Tim League says he's happy Sony listened to the public and decided to release the movie as planned.
