If roads become icy, State transportation workers are prepared.

(WBAP 24/7 NEWS) – TxDOT's Fort Worth district covers nine counties and 8,700 miles of road.

If those roads start to ice over in the next day or two, the department's Michael Peters says TxDOT is ready.

"We have 140 vehicles ready with 167 drivers on-call in the Fort Worth District."

He says crews have been pre-treating roads since Tuesday and they will work in 12 hour shifts, 24 hours a day, until the roads are completely clear.
