I’m sitting at home looking up at my fireplace mantel. It’s filled with dozens of holiday cards and family pictures we received from friends and loved ones across the country.
Some of the pictures were basic shots printed online, while others were much more ornate and probably would win a “holiday card of the year award”, if there was such a thing.
It’s been fun opening up all the cards, but now I struggle with what to do with them.
Do I shred them, like I do with all my old documents? Do I just toss them in the garbage or do I store them in a box that will just collect dust and probably won’t be opened for another 20 years?
I don’t like clutter and I tend to toss things out, but this year I feel guilty dumping the cards in the round filing bin, better known as the garbage. People took so much time to get them made and send them out, I feel I should keep them.
So, until I figure out what to do with the cards they will stay put. They may stay there until next year!
