The U-S Geological Survey is considering that.
North Texas has experienced more than 200 tremors since 2008, and the Irving area alone has recorded almost two dozen in the past month.
If the move is made the hike in risk level would, for the first time, take into consideration quakes believed to be caused by human activity.
Researchers from SMU have set up seismographs around the old Texas Stadium site in Irving trying to figure out what’s causing the shaking.
