NOCONA (WBAP 24/7 NEWS) – The Texas Rangers are investigating this morning’s shooting death of a Montague County Sheriff’s deputy that involves a police officer in Nocona.
The deputy has been identified as 41-year-old Larry Hostetter and Sheriff Paul Cunningham was visibly choked up talking about the death of one of his own.
“It’s difficult. You know, small departments are family.”
Hostetter had been with the Montague County Sheriff’s Office for two years when he died.
He wasn’t on duty at the time of the shooting.
