DALLAS (AP) – Dallas city officials are again tackling the issue of barking dogs.
The current ordinance says a person commits an offense if they let their dog bark continually over a 15-minute period near a private residence. The director of Dallas animal services wants to decrease it to only five minutes, but the city attorney says that would greatly increase complaints.
City council member Rick Callahan thinks 10 minutes might be a more reasonable time.
A panel will study the issue again next month.
