Stars of Lonesome Dove Gather in Fort Worth

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) The River Ranch at the Fort Worth Stockyards hosted a sold-out reunion gala for the cast and crew of “Lonesome Dove.” The western, written by Texas native Larry Mcmurtry, is considered one of the best TV miniseries of all time. Danny Glover, Diane Lane, and Rick Schroder were there, and Robert Duvall gave a speech. The Star Telegram says he remarked that he was honored to have been in two of the greatest epics of the 20th century – the other being “The Godfather.” Dallas and San Antonio were considered to host the reunion, but organizers decided on Fort Worth because it’s part of the Chisholm Trail.
