MESQUITE (WBAP/KLIF) – FedEx will open a distribution center on the old site of Big Town Mall in Mesquite. The city’s Wayne Larson says the company will employ more than 500 workers.
FedEx says the spot was selected because of its location at the intersection of Highway 80 and Interstate 30. Construction on the building is expected to be finished by the end of the year.
Big Town Mall, which opened in 1959, was the first mall in Dallas.
