DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Bluebonnets and Indian Paintbrushes are popping up at the George Bush Presidential Library and Museum.

“We encourage people to take advantage of our guided tours,” said Native Texas Park Docent Carlos Flores.  “It’s about a one mile walk and it’s very leisurely.  It takes about an hour to 90 minutes, depending upon the interest and how often we stop.”

“Along with the stunning bluebonnets, it features Blackland Prairie grasses, other seasonal wildflowers, clearings that provide native habitats for butterflies, birds, and other species, and tree-shaded lawns,” said Alan Lowe, director of the Museum. “This 15-acre urban park reflects the President and Mrs. Bush’s longstanding commitment to environmental conservation and restoration.”

The guided tours are held Thursdays and Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m., weather-permitting. The tours run through October and are free with the purchase of Museum admission on a first-come, first-serve basis.
