Review Blasts Dallas Co. CPS

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – A scathing review of Dallas County Child Protective Services finds a lot of blame, but not enough answers.

The review was written by the Center for Policy, Innovation and Program Coordination, which is part of the state Department of Family and Protective Services.

It found upper level managers of the agency charged with caring for at-risk kids created a “self-inflicted culture that compromises child safety.”

The report faulted a “poor communication and a lack of trust and teamwork.”

CPS said it’s working to change the culture at the agency.
