DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – It helped the crew of Apollo 11 land on the Moon and now it goes up for auction.
Portions of the landing check list, or landing sequence pages, that flew with the crew will start at $50,000.
Michael Riley with Dallas-based Heritage Auctions thinks it will easily go for 6 figures.
“I liken it to something that was on Christopher Columbus’ voyage,” Riley said. “When you look at history as a whole, this is the most important event of the 20th Century.”
On each page, Apollo 11 Lunar Module Pilot Buzz Aldrin wrote, “Used by Neil Armstrong during Eagle’s landing on Apollo XI.”
The online auction is underway. The live auction is Friday.
