Ft. Worth( WBAP/KLIF) – A special task force has been created to re-investigate cases in the Crimes Against Children Unit of the Ft. Worth Police Department after it was discovered a detective failed to thoroughly investigate a case.
The department has re-opened all of the detective’s cases from 2006 and 2008. The officer, who has been with the unit for 14 years, has been reassigned pending the outcome of the investigation.
Sergeant Marc Povero says the officer is not being identified because of the ongoing proceedings.
