JOSHUA (WBAP/KLIF News) One of the officers killed in the Dallas ambush was the godfather to a Joshua teen who is now speaking out. Amado Martinez was staying the night with his best friend, Blake Novacek, the son of former Dallas Cowboy Jay Novacek, when his mother called to tell him Patrick Zammarippa was shot. The Novacek’s are now behind an event honoring police called DFWStrong. The fundraiser takes place Sunday at the American Airlines Center.
