DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Dallas Fire Rescue is on scene of a 4-alarm fire at the Southwind Apartments near Harry Hines Boulevard and Lombardy Lane.
The fire has destroyed at least four of the six units in the apartment building. Dallas Fire Rescue’s Jason Evans says the fire is hard to put out because it has spread inside of the walls of the building.
“We have between 70 and 80 fire fighters on location. We are putting our best foot forward to try and get this thing put down as soon as possible.”
One person was taken to a local hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation, but is expected to be ok.
Evans adds the American Red Cross has been called in to help the four families displaced by the fire.
