ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF) – Texas Rangers second baseman Rougned Odor has been suspended for eight games for punching Toronto Blue Jays Jose Bautista on Sunday.
Bautista slid at Odor’s legs during a double play in the top of the eighth inning. Odor shoved Bautista and then punched him in the face. Players from both teams rushed the field during the melee.
Odor, who was also fined $5,000, says he does not regret hitting Baustista.
Blue Jays manager John Gibbons was also suspended for three games for returning to the field after being ejected earlier in the game.
