DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) The City of Dallas says it is not conspiring to gain property by evicting renters. A landlord started sending out notices to tenants 2 weeks ago, giving them until the end of the month to move out. Khraish H. Khraish, the man behind rental company HMK Limited, started with the evictions on hundreds of dilapidated homes just after Dallas announced tougher housing standards were going into effect. Renter Henry Campos told WFAA Khraish claims the city wants to buy his properties. Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings says the city wants tenants to be able to stay in their homes and that Khraish is lying.
