DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – A judge has declared a mistrial in the case against a former Garland Police Officer.
Garland police say officer Patrick Tuter fired 41 shots and killed a suspect after a chase in 2012.
Prosecutors had charged Tuter with manslaughter and described Tuter as a “rogue cop.”
Tuter testified that he thought the suspect could kill someone.
The jury started deliberating Friday and after six hours, the jury sent a note to the judge saying it couldn’t reach a decision.
The judge declared a mistrial.
Tuter could face another trial with a different jury.
