Crowley (WBAP/KLIF) – WalMart is testing a new store concept in the small town of Crowley, south of Fort Worth. The company has built a 2,500 square foot convenience store on Crowley’s Main Street. It’s one of two the giant retailer opened last month. The other is in Rogers, Arkansas near the company’s Bentonville headquarters. According to WalMart, Crowley was picked because it’s on the outskirts of the DFW metroplex just off the major north-south I-35 corridor, but the company also says it’s always looking for new ways to do business, and for now the new store is only a test of one of those ideas.
