Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – A new book by Former President George W. Bush goes on sale on Tuesday. The book honors America’s military veterans. It features 66 full color portraits of wounded service members. The paintings were made by Bush, who has become a portrait artist since leaving office. According to the George W. Bush Presidential Library, “Each painting is accompanied by the inspiring story of the veteran depicted, written by the President.” All proceeds from the book “Portraits of Courage: A Commander in Chief’s Tribute to America’s Warriors” will benefit the George W. Bush Presidential Center, a non-profit organization which works to ensure veterans post-Sept. 11 overcome their wounds and are able to transition to civilian life. An exhibit based on the book opens at the George W. Bush Presidential Library in Dallas on March 2.
