Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – The $800 million construction project to replace the Mixmaster freeway tangle in Dallas is moving into its final stages, but getting there isn’t easy. All work on what’s known as the Horseshoe Project should be completed by summer, but for the moment things are a mess. There will be temporary road closures and lane shifts through the weekend as the exit from eastbound I-30 to northbound 35E is changed from a left exit to a right exit. By Sunday morning the new direct connector from eastbound I-30 to southbound 35E should also be open. In that case, though, to take that connector motorists will need to stay in the middle lane. All lanes should be in their new alignments by Sunday morning.
