Dallas (WBAP/KLIF News) – Testimony in the case against Dallas County Commissioner John Wiley Price ended Tuesday morning with the judge sending jurors home. The judge, Price’s lawyers and prosecutors then started discussing whether documents from the prosecution should have been redacted.
The judge ordered the prosecution to provide the documents, saying the exclusion was “baffling.” Judge Barbara Lynn said she could not meaningfully review the information that was provided, saying the prosecution needed to provide electronic attachments to its evidence.
Lawyers for the government said some drafts of notes should not be provided to the defense. The judge ordered all five drafts to be produced.
During the trial, an FBI agent testified Price received money, cars and land as payment from Kathy Nealy. Nealy is a consultant. The agent says Price then voted for her to win contracts from the county.
The agent says the FBI used cameras to watch Price’s home and a business owned by Dapheny Fain, Price’s assistant. The agent said Google Street View showed an Aston Martin in Price’s driveway in 2010.
Fain is also on trial. Nealy will face a separate trial.
