(WBAP/KLIF News) A documentary filmmaker made himself the subject of his movie. Adam Shepard is the man behind “American Dream” which follows him from Raleigh, NC to Knoxville, TN,where he’s dropped off, blindfolded, with just $25 in his pocket to survive for the next 30 days. His goal is to turn that $25 into $1K. Shepard performs a lot of odd jobs and hard labor to raise the money and he says a lot of people can relate to his journey. He told KLIF News and Information that the hardest job he performed was shoveling dirt. He says the most fun job was standing in line to buy tickets to Shark Tank for a woman who paid him $100. Shepard says he has been turned down several times by CBS to appear on their reality show “The Amazing Race,” so he set out to make his own video of a similar experience. You can watch his movie on Amazon and ITunes from his website which will cost $3.99 to rent. But if you wait until the fall, American Dream will be on Netflix.
