Undated (WBAP/KLIF) – This weekend, all first aid kits and emergency-related items in Texas are tax free. Texas Comptroller Glenn Hegar says lawmakers created this particular sales tax holiday to help Texans prepare for the next fire, tornado or flood. There is no limit on the number of items you can purchase. Comptroller officials estimate shoppers will save around $1.5 million in state and local sales tax this year. The Emergency Preparedness Tax Free Weekend runs from Saturday, April 22nd until Monday, April 24th.
