String of Violent Muggings Prompts Warning

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Leaders and people who live in Deep Ellum are asking visitors to travel in groups after three violent muggings last month.

One woman told police she was robbed and beaten with a gun by a man she thought was a panhandler.  She said he wasn’t working alone.

The Deep Ellum Foundation pays two off-duty officers to patrol the neighborhood’s busiest streets three nights a week until 3:00 a.m.
