(WBAP/KLIF News) This Monday will be seven years since U.S. Navy Seals executed a raid on a compound in Pakistan ending with the death of terror mastermind Osama Bin Laden. The man who fired the deadly shot is claimed to be highly decorated former Navy Seal Robert O’Neill. He says he and his team understood this would likely be a suicide mission, and never expected to come out of it alive. O’Neill says there were too many variables working against him and 22 other Seal team members who accepted the mission. He claims there was a high risk of getting shot down in Pakistan and taken prisoner if not killed, or dying in a suicide bombing inside the compound, but that they managed to complete the mission and make it out alive. O’Neill says he shot the Al-Queda founder twice in the head while Bin Laden held his wife in front of him. O’Neill is now an author and wrote “The Operator: Firing the Shots that Killed Osama Bin Laden and My Years as a Seal Team Warrior” which tells the story of everyone involved that day.
