(WBAP/KLIF) – It could be days or even months until survivors of the Las Vegas mass shooting know if they develop Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.
Dr. John Huber with Texas State University says there are some easily noticeable warning signs.
“You start reliving the experience. Sometimes you have dreams, sometimes you have moments during the day when you feel like you’re walking into that scenario,” Dr. Huber said.
He says survivors should tell their stories and talk to close friends and even seek professional help if necessary.
“In case you do have the symptoms, whether they start in three weeks or six months, you’ve already got a connection with somebody,” said Huber.
59 people were killed in the shooting and over 500 people injured.
