Fort Worth (WBAP/KLIF) – The Texas Department of Transportation has begun a study of a three freeway interchange in southern Tarrant County. When the three way meeting of U.S. Highway 287, Interstate 20 and Loop 820 was designed in the late 1950s it was in a rural area, and was all that was needed there at that time. Now 250,000 vehicles use that interchange every day, and it’s running way beyond its designed capacity. TXDOT has more than a billion dollars to spend on improvements, and the study is the first step.
