robles-chp-officerCockrell Hill  (WBAP/KLIF News) – Cockrell Hill Police are looking for a man who took off after he allegedly ran over an officer with his truck and dragged him during a traffic stop.

Investigators said Officer Daniel Dominguez’s traffic stop last Saturday on West Jefferson Boulevard near South Cockrell Hill Road started off routine, until he discovered that the driver lied and his name was Everardo Benavides-Perez and gave a fake Mexican consulate card to identify himself.

Police said Dominguez asked the driver, possibly named Everardo Robles, to get out of the car. They said Robles allegedly took off with Dominguez still holding on to the door and ended up dragging him about fifteen feet.

The officer was taken to the hospital and was treated for a broken ankle, abrasions, soft tissue damage and was released. Robles was driving a red 1998 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck with Texas license plate GJH 2165.

He is facing a charge of aggravated assault of a public servant.
