DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Two Dallas drug traffickers who led police on a high speed chase that ended in a lake received lengthy federal prison sentences on Thursday.
Santiago Veliz was sentenced to 140 months in federal prison and his accomplice Iran Zavala got 235 months for conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine.
The pair’s drug operation was derailed when they attempted to sell two kilograms of meth to an undercover officer.
Zavala then led police on a chase that ended when he drove his truck into Mountain Creek Lake where it crashed into a sailboat.
