Keller Soldier Surprises Kids With Return Home

Keller (WBAP/KLIF News) – A soldier from Keller surprised his kids at school Wednesday, returning home from a six month deployment to Afghanistan.

Jeremy Freeman landed at Joint Reserve Base Wednesday and went to each of his kids’ schools.

At Timber Creek High School, students were told they were going to the gym for a pep rally. When Freeman walked in, his daughter stood up ran down the stands to hug her father.

“I was so surprised, I was not expecting this at all,” Lauryn Freeman says.

“I’m just happy to be home. It’s been a long time,” Jeremy Freeman says. “I’ll go home and spend some time with the family now.”

This was Freeman’s second deployment. He plans to retire from the service next year.

“I’m home for good, now,” he says. “This is my last hoorah.”
