KILLEEN (WBAP/KLIF News) – A school in Killeen is in trouble with Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton over a Charlie Brown Christmas poster.

District administrators are defending their decision to tell an employee at Patterson Middle School to take down part of the poster of the character Linus reading a Bible verse.

In a statement, Paxton referred to the Merry Christmas law and said that no school official in Texas can silence a Biblical reference to the holiday.

The district said the poster isn’t protected because the law requires that a display not encourage support of a particular religion.
