Garland fire and police responded to the report of a person trapped in a vehicle that was surrounded by rising water.
The call came in just after 2am Sunday morning.
The first responders found the vehicle trapped in the rushing water at the north end of the bridge in the 1700 block of Holford road.
The water was flowing over the bridge at a depth of up to two feet.
Because of the depth of the rushing water, first responders could not safely get to the car before it was swept downstream.
The vehicle was later found, unoccupied, about 300 yards downstream.
Wylie, Richardson, and Plano fire departments, along with K-9 teams from Lone Star Search and Rescue, and a DPS helicopter, arrived to help with search operations.
The body of a woman was recovered Sunday afternoon but it was not yet confirmed to be the missing driver.
