Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – A coyote matching the description of the animal authorities were looking for was shot in the Lake Highlands area where a 2-year-old boy was attacked on Tuesday.
Dallas Animal Services says that a USDA crew reportedly shot a killed a coyote in the area last evening. It’s still not known if it’s the same coyote that attacked a toddler. The child required hours of surgery after being injured about the face according to his parents. He’s expected to make a full recovery.
Authorities say the coyote will be tested for rabies to determine what additional treatment if any the child may needed. The child was sitting on his front porch morning when the coyote attack.
Meantime, a home security camera in the Lake Highlands area on Wednesday also captured a coyote swiping a food delivery from someone’s front door. According to a report from WFAA, the food may have been left intentionally for the animal as residents in the area were known to routinely feed and pet the animal.
