AUSTIN (WBAP/KLIF News) — It may seem like the whole world is critical of President Trump but he did win the election and a new poll finds a majority of Texans solidly in support of his position on the issues.
Thirty days into Trump’s presidency the latest University of Texas/Texas Tribune Poll finds the politically partisan divide you would probably expect; more than 80 percent of Republicans questioned like Trump’s work so far while 85 percent of Democrats do not.
Overall, 50 percent of all Texans asked say Trump is dishonest. That, too, broke strongly along party lines with 70 percent of Republicans and only six percent of Democrats believing Trump is trustworthy.
When asked for an overall sense of national matters a majority of Texas voters say they’re optimistic for the future of the country and the economy.
