(WBAP/KLIF) – An early Saturday morning police raid ends with four dead, including an Austin Police Officer.

A gunman shot and killed the officer, while injuring another when a SWAT team stormed the house where the man was holding hostages. Interim Austin Police Chief Robin Henderson says her SWAT team returned fire, hitting the suspect.
Two of the three hostages were found dead, while one escaped before the shooting broke out. Travis County EMS took both officers to the hospital, where one of them died. The other officer is expected to recover.
Henderson says her officers ran towards danger in the hope of saving lives.
