Severe Thunderstorms, Tornado Warnings Across North Texas

NORTH TEXAS  (WBAP/KLIF News) – Severe thunderstorms swept through parts of North Texas overnight bringing heavy rains, high winds and tornado warnings Wednesday morning.

Oncor reported that the storm knocked out power to more than 200,000 customers.

The company’s Geoff Bailey said crews are working as safely and diligently to restore power as quickly as possible.

The storms moved in just after midnight, after a squall line of severe storms raked across North Texas.

The National Weather Service issued Severe Thunderstorm Warning for numerous counties including Dallas, Tarrant, Hunt, Eastern Kaufman and Van Zandt counties.

One person was reportedly injured in Rockwall but reports of wind damage to homes and business are extensive.
